How BarFit protects your information

You are entering some of the most sensitive material in your life: criminal history, financial records, and personal incidents. This page explains in plain English what happens to it. For the formal legal terms, read the Privacy Policy.

What we collect

When you complete the readiness scan, we collect your answers to the questionnaire. When you create an account, we also collect your name, email, and state.

How your data is stored

Your questionnaire answers and disclosure drafts are encrypted at rest. We use AES-256 encryption for stored data and TLS 1.2 or higher for data in transit.

AI processing

BarFit uses Anthropic's Claude AI to power the Disclosure Builder, Hearing Simulator, and coaching features. When you use these features, relevant portions of your answers are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models. No other AI providers process your data.

Who can see your data

Your questionnaire answers, disclosure drafts, and hearing simulations are encrypted and access is limited to you, except where necessary for support, security, or legal compliance. Authorized BarFit personnel operate under least-privilege access controls. If required by law, we may be compelled to disclose information. We will notify you if legally permitted to do so.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings. Deletion is permanent and processed within 5 business days. We do not retain backups of deleted accounts beyond 30 days.

Law school access

If your law school provides BarFit access, the school can see aggregate usage data (how many students activated the tool) but cannot see any individual student's answers, disclosures, or results.
