About BarFit

Every year, thousands of law graduates face a part of the bar admission process almost nobody prepares them for: Character and Fitness review. Unlike the bar exam itself, there is no study guide, no practice test, and no clear rubric. Applicants are left guessing what to disclose, how to phrase it, and what a committee is actually looking for.

BarFit was built to close that gap.

We started by reading. Over 2,000 published Character and Fitness case decisions, covering all 50 states and D.C., to understand what actually gets applicants flagged, what gets cleared, and what separates a disclosure that reassures a committee from one that raises more questions. That review became the foundation of everything on this platform: state specific guidance, a writing coach for disclosures, a hearing prep simulator, and a database of real outcomes you can search by state and issue type.

What BarFit is

A preparation and writing tool. We help you understand what your state's process actually asks for, and we coach you on how to present your history clearly, honestly, and in your own words.

What BarFit is not

A law firm. We do not provide legal advice, and nothing on this platform should be submitted to a bar authority without review by a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction. Our AI feedback is limited to tone, clarity, and structure, not legal judgment about your case.

Why it matters to us

A strong record shouldn't be undone by an unclear disclosure, and a difficult history shouldn't go unexplained simply because the applicant didn't know how to explain it. Character and Fitness review exists to protect the profession. We think applicants deserve real preparation for it, the same way they get real preparation for the exam itself.

BarFit

Built for bar applicants across all 50 states.
